Please read this document carefully before participating in any ConiFriends event. By checking the waiver agreement at sign-up, you are entering into a legally binding agreement.

1. Description of Activities

ConiFriends organises volunteer conservation events that may include, but are not limited to: native tree and plant installation, habitat restoration, trail maintenance, site clearing, soil preparation, and hiking to and from work sites. These activities take place in outdoor environments and may involve uneven terrain, use of hand tools, exposure to weather, and physical exertion.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand and acknowledge that participation in ConiFriends events involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: slips, trips, and falls; muscle strain or injury from physical labor; exposure to sun, heat, cold, insects, or plants; and allergic reactions. I voluntarily assume all such risks, known and unknown, associated with participation.

3. Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate in ConiFriends events, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue ConiFriends, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, sponsors, and partners (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, losses, or damages arising out of or related to my participation, including claims of negligence by the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

4. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur due to my participation in ConiFriends events, whether caused by my negligence or otherwise.

5. Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency, I authorise ConiFriends staff to seek medical treatment on my behalf and consent to the provision of emergency first aid. I understand that ConiFriends is not responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

6. Emergency Contact

I agree to provide accurate emergency contact information at the time of registration and to update it if it changes prior to the event.

7. Minors

If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must agree to this Waiver on the participant's behalf. The parent/guardian represents that they have the authority to do so and that they agree to all terms contained herein on behalf of the minor. The parent/guardian also agrees to supervise the minor's participation and to be present or available by phone throughout the event.

8. Severability

If any provision of this Waiver is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

9. Governing Law

This Waiver shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any disputes shall be resolved in Spokane County, Washington.

10. Acknowledgement

By agreeing to this Waiver at sign-up, I confirm that I have read and fully understand its contents, that I am at least 18 years of age (or a parent/guardian of a participating minor), and that I am freely and voluntarily agreeing to its terms.
