Volunteer Agreement

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with ConiFriends. By registering for or participating in a ConiFriends event, you agree to the terms of this Volunteer Agreement.

1. Volunteer Role

As a ConiFriends volunteer, you will assist with activities such as native tree and plant installation, habitat restoration, site preparation, and related conservation tasks. You understand that you are volunteering in a non-paid capacity and are not an employee, agent, or contractor of ConiFriends.

2. Conduct and Safety

• You agree to follow all instructions provided by ConiFriends staff and event leads.
• You agree to behave in a respectful, inclusive, and professional manner toward all other volunteers, staff, and community members.
• You agree to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed, including work gloves and closed-toe shoes.
• You agree to report any injuries, hazards, or safety concerns to event staff immediately.
• You agree not to participate if you are impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any substance that affects your ability to work safely.

3. Physical Demands

Volunteer activities may involve moderate to strenuous physical labor, including digging, lifting, carrying, and working on uneven terrain. You confirm that you are physically capable of performing the tasks required for the event you are registering for, or that you have disclosed any limitations so that appropriate accommodations can be arranged.

4. Age Requirements

Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete the parental consent section of the sign-up form and agree to this Agreement and the Liability Waiver on the minor's behalf. The guardian assumes responsibility for the minor's participation.

5. Photography and Media

ConiFriends may take photographs or video at events for use in publications, social media, grant applications, and promotional materials. By participating, you grant ConiFriends a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use your likeness for these purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify an event lead at the start of the event.

6. Confidentiality

You agree not to share non-public information about ConiFriends' operations, strategies, donor information, or partner agreements without prior written consent.

7. Termination of Volunteer Status

ConiFriends reserves the right to suspend or terminate your volunteer status at any time for violations of this Agreement, safety concerns, or any other lawful reason. You may also withdraw as a volunteer at any time by notifying us.

8. Relationship to Liability Waiver

This Agreement should be read together with our Liability Waiver, which also forms part of your registration. Both documents must be agreed to in order to participate in an event where a waiver is required.
